Ceremony Vestment Guidelines

Thank you for joining us in celebrating the Apostolic Affirmation of four exceptional leaders who are serving faithfully across the United States. As we prepare for this special occasion, guidelines for the ceremony have been outlined below, along with attire expectations appropriate to your calling.

Clergy who choose to participate in the processional are required to wear appropriate robe attire for the ceremony. Those who prefer to attend in civic attire are warmly welcomed; however, they will not be included in the processional and will be seated in a designated section separate from robed clergy.

Attire & Accessories Guidelines

Black shoes, plain toe with a modest heel and black stockings are required accessories. While in uniform, jewelry must be kept to a minimum. Large earrings are not permitted, with the exception of small, modest studs for women. Necklaces and excessive rings are not allowed under any circumstances.

For outerwear, black topcoats or overcoats of a simple, classic design are appropriate. A plain black hat may also be worn for street attire. It is imperative that all clergy avoid gaudy or distracting elements in their appearance, as we are to present ourselves with dignity and reverence, reflecting the sacredness of our High and Holy Office.
